Toshiba's new 128GB SATA SSDs -- hello SanDisk?

128GB of SSD. You long for it, you need it, and with any luck you'll have it when Toshiba starts churning 'em out for production by May. The new 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch MLC NAND slabs with SATA interfaces will ship in three capacities: 32GB, 64GB, and the big daddy 128GB. The new SSDs are based on the new 56-nm processes announced back in January. Of course, with Toshiba and Sandisk bedfellows in flash we're also expecting a SanDisk announcement on the quick -- certainly no later than CES in early January. No prices announced, though we anticipate the year-over-year reductions to continue, right boys?

We all know how first impressions count a lot, so having an original and stylish wristwatch can be one of the important points that adds more personality value to the owner. By original I mean unusual in terms of design and material, luckily enough, there aren’t many watches that use crochet or tapestry as their “substance”.

Having in mind that conditional characteristic, I present you two alternative watches that will make you go “pop” - the watchband on either one is made of Italian lambskin and can have a crochet handmade decoration, or a trimmed jacquard tapestry ribbon.

Both are a creative and unique on their own kind of way, the one made from crochet makes me remember my Mom and her projects to add crochet borders to all the towels she can put her hands on. Now that I have put 1 and 1 together, I think I could ask her to do some crochet on normal wristwatch bands and create my own Tiago brand, any takers?

Anyway, the watch faces are square shaped and measure 1-inch which is more than enough to view the time, the bands are adjustable so no worries about the size because (almost) everyone will be able to wear them.

The Crochet Trimmed Watches don’t feature anything high-tech, they only display the time which is the main feature of a watch, and for people that want something simple yet good looking, this is the right option that only costs $80.

Review: The Slanket ( Forget The Electric Blanket )

Slanket

I've got a very bad review habit. You see when I review a product, I don't just try it out and then write a quick fluffy blurb about it. When I review a product I live the product, breathe the product, become the product. The good folks over at TheSlanket.com sent me a warm comfy Slanket to review quite some time ago. (In all fairness it was kinda warm outside when they sent it to me, but that's still no excuse.)

So what is a "Slanket?" It's a big soft warm comfy blanket with sleeves that you literally wear while you're on the couch playing video games, watching TV, or working on your blog. A recent situation made it such that I had to sleep in my living room for over a month. I thought that would be an excellent time to give the Slanket a spin.

After 35 days of using the Slanket for my sleeping blanket I came to this conclusion: the Slanket is the most comfortable, softest, warmest, and best engineered blanket ever made. It stays soft after washing without fabric softener, and even on the coldest night the Slanket kept me (and my cat) super toasty warm. (My new Sith Lord name is "Darth Toasty.")

The only thing I would change about the Slanket is to add some velcro on the back edges so you could wrap yourself up and velcro yourself in. Since most people won't be using the Slanket to sleep in like I did this won't be such a big deal for most. Oh, and now that I think about it I'd also put a big pocket on the chest so I could have a good place to put my TV remotes.

I love this product. If you get cold, sit on couches, or like the softest things ever then you'll love The Slanket too.

Carbon Fiber iPhone Mockup

iphonecarbon.jpgThis is a carbon fiber iPhone mockup that I normally wouldn't care about, but this one comes with a humorous story. Supposedly, Apple will be developing a special edition carbon fiber iPhone called the Carbon Electra X Apple iPhone. It will be limited to 200 units and be given away in the Oscars goodie bags. This is where the story gets iPhoney, but kind of funny.

In addition to the beautiful carbon fiber case, the phone will come pre-loaded with every M.O.P. song ever produced, every episode of Mythbusters and Rosario Dawson's cell number. There is also a custom software installed, approved by the FAA, that allows you to use your phone while on board any commercial airplane.
Who the hell is M.O.P? Regardless, it will also (not) be available for $700, 11-percent of which will be donated to the International TonTon Preservation Fund.
